A2 Sketchbook

These are the images from my sketchbook; they are the different uses of media and modelling I have done in preparation for my designs and as a result I have drawn on what the outcome is into dresses. I have used media such as glue, brusho, pastels, paint, tissue paper, sponges, waterpens and straws. And for the modelling, I got different items, placed them inside a plastic wallet and sublimation printed it to get the result and for the one below, I got a think woollen string and zigzag stitched across it stopping in between to create the loose strands.

A2 ICT Designs

These are the designs I drew on Photoshop, they derive from images from my sketchbook and mood boards. They didn’t necessarily have to follow the same function as the initial designs so there is a range of evening and daywear. These designs didn’t need to same process as the initial designs but they help to widen my media range therefore I am able to adapt to the limited use I have.

A2 Final Idea

Like the development from the initial, the final design was derived from the weaknesses of the developed. At this stage, there are no weaknesses therefore this dress should meet to the public’s standards. It’s more suited for its function as a day dress because of the style and fastening but it has the other element of the tweed waistcoat which makes it more casual as the dress itself could be multi-functional as an evening dress. It meets all of the specifications and the extra drawings show a clear understanding and the 2 parts of the dress.

A2 Development

This is the development from the initial idea where there are salient changes made for it to be more suitable for the day. The changes made to the developed design were based on the weaknesses from the initial which makes the design easier to transform.  Despite having no weaknesses from the initial, the developed design had some due to the changes. Having a close up drawing of the decorative hem will create a clearer understanding as it needed to be innovative therefore more detail needs to be shown.

A2 Intial Idea

This is one of my initial designs which I have carried on with into the final idea stage. My initial ideas are wild and crazy despite them needing to be suitable for the day but because they are to be developed, it’s better to tailor them down to make them suitable otherwise a change cannot be seen well. Again, this is annotate with the strengths and weakness of the garment, the decoration and construction features, unsuccessful features, material, links to the brief and what needs to be developed.
